Why Use Bamboo Blinds?

Bamboo is a renewable resource, so it is one of the most environmentally friendly of timber options. As well, when used as a window covering, it helps to insulate against heat and cold, making the temperature of the home more comfortable and reducing the need to use heaters and air conditioners.

If you choose to leave your bamboo blinds unstained, they have a beautiful colour that works well in any style of room.  It is traditional to leave the blinds unstained.  However, you can also choose to stain or paint your bamboo blinds, so you have a great deal of flexibility in how they look.  Bamboo blinds are also a great choice as they are very durable. They will last for years before they begin to show any wear or tear.

Types of Bamboo Blinds

There are different types of bamboo blinds that you can choose from.  These include:

* Venetian blinds -- these are virtually identical to the standard timber blinds that you may be familiar with only they are made using bamboo.
* Roll up blinds -- these can be rolled up or down as desired.
* Custom made blinds -- if you want to use bamboo but cannot find a blind that you love, why not consider having the blinds custom made? You will able to have the exact size, style, and colour that you want.
* Woven blinds -- this is where the bamboo is woven in order to make a block out blind. You can get these in roll up, drape, roman, and spring roller styles.
* Combi -- this is where bamboo and matchstick is used. It filters light and offers privacy in the daytime but be aware that you will not have privacy at night due to the lights that are in the room, so they are best used with another type of window covering if privacy is a concern.
* Matchstick -- this type of bamboo blind is perfect for areas that overlook the outdoors as they filter the sun without blocking your view.
